Happily I still have the health and the means to continue with the travel I love.
To celebrate this in 2017 I travelled back to South Africa. Although I was once again based in Durban, I managed to include a visit to the thoroughly relaxing Tembe Elephant Park for my top-up of the African bush.
With my psyche back in sync I was off to the UK and Ireland. My stay there began with a visit to friends (in Stroud) whom I had last seen in 1977.
From there I journeyed to Dublin to begin an organised tour of Ireland and Scotland. The tour ended 15 days later in Edinburgh.
Following that part of my trip I then travelled by train down south, catching up with friends along the way. I had stop-overs in Lowestoft, Eastbourne and Hitchem.
I really enjoyed the diversity of travel and even more it was so great to catch up with people that I normally only have limited contact with.
